A charity from the region held its annual sleepout event on Friday night and helped raise thousands of pounds for homeless people in Burton and South Derbyshire.

Over 120 people took part in the event, where they spent the night sleeping outside at the rugby club's Peel Croft ground, to raise money for the charity and to bring awareness to homelessness.

The event first began in 2009 and help to raise money for a new training and support centre, which opened last year.
